Not On Vacation
I am working on what may (or may not) be important research.
First—are you hearing that we Jews, far from being indigenous to the Land of Israel, pushed out other peoples when we first came? And were you, perhaps, troubled by references to the Perizites, Girgeshites, and others whom the Bible makes clear we (with His help) eliminated? Are you thinking that perhaps we really do not have a right to this land?
As I was reading Psalm 30 this morning, something suddenly became clear. The second verse in the psalm says, “I exalt You, Lord, for you have uplifted me, and did not allow my enemies to rejoice over me.” “Rejoicing over” us is exactly what we saw in the Hamas selfie videos that we saw of October 7.
There is a lot of evidence that many Nazis who were ordered to carry out atrocities against Jews had to drink themselves into oblivion every night. Not this enemy, who called their parents bragging that they were covered in the blood of Jews; an enemy whose women encourage their children to blow themselves up in the name of their god.
The people who were in this land before the Jews—the Canaanites (who are now considered by many to be the Palestinian Arabs) and others—were incredible barbarians with a culture we see still today reflected in the Iranians, Taliban, and those surrounding us. They were worshippers who sacrificed their babies to Moloch and Sodomites who reveled in sexual immorality and who killed strangers because they were strangers. God instructed us and gave us the strength to kill them, to rid this part of the world of their vileness.
The Ten Commandments made clear that their behaviors are abhorrent to God, who creates life, gives it to us, and wants us to use it to benefit others to whom He gives Life. But there are some who have demonstrated that they are not interested in redemption. By attaching themselves to those horrible peoples of the past. the Palestinian Arabs are proving yet again of what they are made.
Does it appear to you that often Democrat candidates edge out Republicans by extremely small margins—from fractions of a percentage point to one or two percent—but Republicans rarely win with such small margins? I am not sure that this is a real phenomenon or if I am imagining it. To find out, I have begun researching it. This will take a lot of my time during the next couple of weeks but will find its way onto these pages soon. Because of the time involved, I have not had time to do an essay for this week.
Most writers on this platform provide only teasers for free, thus enticing people to become paid subscribers. However, although I am grateful for paid subscriptions, I decided not to charge subscribers for the duration of the Israel-Hamas/Hezbollah war. Because of this, I cannot support a research staff. Please give me grace for skipping this week’s essay.
Excellent thoughts! I didn't know people thought the Palestinians are decended from the caananites. A large majority of them moved to Israel from surrounding countries for jobs when the jews began really revitalizing the land around the late 1800's. That's why they are often from different tribes and don't get along with each other.
